A fantastically clean game given the time constraint and resources. The kind of game that I would expect to easily garner a cult following if taken further.
The difficulty ramp from the first room to the last felt just perfect given my lack of experience with this genre of games. I was especially a fan of the design in the last room in which I unfortunately found myself scrambling with the pressure of what lurked beyond the door.
The more complex the puzzles got, the more oppressive game felt as my mind was being distracted from the real danger. This design choice feels so simple but the execution is very well done. I can't wait to see where this game goes.
I am not a fan of horror. But I am a fan of Shroud of Gloom.
Honestly the aesthetic and atmosphere of this game are exactly what I like in a horror game. It's a simple premise that works well within the confines of a point and click mystery/horror game akin to those old escape games. I was immediately uncomfortable because of the ambience. Rock on!
I'll admit, I was not expecting the jumpscare the first time. Or the second.
Some lovely pixel art work on display here attached to a interesting point and click game. I was stumped on the third room, but I'll return to see if I can puzzle out these puzzles.
